I hang up on people. I do. When I feel like I'm being called names, backed into a corner, and being yelled at. Maybe that makes me childish. Maybe that makes me immature. But it's what I do.
In therapy, I was told that I needed to show more self-love. And one of the ways to do so was to avoid being put in situations where I feel like my self worth is being depleted.
In the book, "Coping with Difficult People" it actually suggests there are good reasons for doing so. It says, "First, you're trying to manage your behavior just at the time that it's most difficult to manage. The surest way is to simply stop it...by interrupting the interaction you give yourself a chance to compose yourself and think about what's happening."
I've done this twice in the past 6 months. It's not fun, but it keeps me from bawling my head off while on the phone while being yelled at. And I think I don't need to be in those situations. Not if they want to be in my life. I deserve to be treated better.

Are you ok? If you ever need to talk, I'm here. You are such a sweetie, and should only be treated as such. Good for you not putting up with mean-ness in general. You're better than that.
Merry Christmas love!
You do deserve better. I'm sorry you have been treated in this awful manner. Just remember I love you, and I miss you, and wish we lived closer.
